Etisalat Nigeria had at this year’s NigeriaCom Conference and Exhibition, highlighted strategies for improving quality of service in the industry.
Speaking at the Conference held recently at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, the company’s Director Network Engineering, Temi Ogunbambi stated that Etisalat takes quality of service seriously and as such works tirelessly to ensure that this is maintained across the country, knowing that it is the only way customers can enjoy value for their money.
In his contribution to a panel debate on the topic “Quality of Service on the Network: Challenges & Opportunities for Telecoms Operators in Nigeria,” Ogunbambi who was the keynote speaker on the first day of the conference said Nigeria
is one of the largest and fastest growing telecommunication markets in Africa.
He pointed out that Etisalat was passionate about creating sustainable strategies for transforming the quality of service in the industry, and gave an insight into how the network has gone about this over the last five years.
According to him, “With Quality of Service (QOS), we are always trying to measure our customer’s satisfaction and ensure that they get value for their money. We constantly engage our customers at different levels and we receive good commendation from them as well as feedback on areas of improvement. We are aware that there are challenges around QOS generally, and that is why we constantly design various criteria and activities to help measure this.
“One of our key strategies to drive and measure QOS is our regional customer fora where we visit our customers in their various communities, to discuss network issues and evaluate our network performance. With this, we try to understand them, the challenges they face, their needs and the best way to satisfy them, because we believe QOS can only be measured by involving the customers.”
The conference with the theme: “Working Together to Provide Quality Services Throughout The Digital Realm,” had in attendance telecommunications industry experts, regulators, customers and other stakeholders.
The NigeriaCom Conference and Exhibition is part of a series of mobile events targeted at bringing together the entire digital ecosystem to discuss opportunities and development of the system.
Etisalat Nigeria will also be participating at the upcoming AfricaCom scheduled to hold on the 12th – 14th of November in Cape Town, South Africa.
