Airtel Nigeria recently organized a high profile forum to enlighten and inspire its female employees as another way of demonstrating its commitment to creating world-class employee wellbeing offerings for its workforce.
A release by Emmanuel Otokhine, PR Manager of Airtel Nigeria said the event, which was part of activities marking the International Women’s Day, an event which was widely celebrated the world over on this month, attracted prominent and influential female personalities in the country who provided guidance and encouragement to the Airtel female staff in attendance.
Notable motivational speakers who graced the occasion included Mrs. Bridget Itsueli, Director, Lagos Resource Centre; Mrs. Ifeanyi Adefarasin, Motivational Speaker; Mrs. Nancy Ogboi, Inspirational speaker & Counsellor; and Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, Motivational speaker.
All the speakers provided insight on issues bordering on life, business, health, wellbeing, sex and self-management, among many others, encouraging the staff and offering advice in areas of Finance, Communication Skills, Self Discovery and Orientation and Emotions.
Airtel Nigeria’s Human Resources Director, Jubril Saba said the company is committed to improving its employee’s wellbeing and ready to go any mile in retaining and motivating its workforce.
“Airtel as an organization is committed not only to meeting targets and making profit but also to the wellbeing of all its employees since employees are not only affected by the work environment, but also by issues outside the workplace especially those bordering on family, relationships, money, emotions, among many others.
“The organization uses such programs and other wellbeing programs to provide guidance, mentoring or inspiration in these areas. So in doing this, we want to ensure that staff have an all-round wellness to enable them become highly effective as persons and as employees,” said Saba.
The company intends to join the rest of the world yearly to celebrate womanhood and discuss issues that affect the wellbeing and performance of women at home and at work.
To add a special zing and colour to the celebrations, Airtel female staff who attended the occasion were decked in fashionable African outfits.
The company said the unique dress-code is part of the gesture of celebration of its female employees as mothers, sisters, home makers, supporters, workers and much more. It said Airtel has demonstrated once again, its unflinching love for its employees, regardless of their gender while also affirming the milestones achieved by women both in the home front and at the work place.
Meanwhile Airtel Nigeria has made presentation of prizes to the first set of winners in its on-going Feel Free Bonanza Promo, an interactive SMS (Short Message Service) based trivia game. The prizes included fully connected Blackberry Smart phones, Samsung LCD Television Sets and N1, 000,000.00 (One Million Naira) cash prizes each.
The Airtel Feel Free Bonanza, is a two-phased SMS promotion designed to allow customers win prizes for free as well as for a premium.
Customers have the opportunity to win LCD TV for free if they participate in the Feel Free Phase and win N1 million or a fully connected Blackberry Smartphone at a premium cost of N100 if they participate in the 2Good phase.
To register and participate in the Feel Free phase, customers are required to text 'Feel Free' to 333 at no charge. Customers can participate in the 2Good phase by sending 2Good to 444 for only N100.
The bonanza will run till May 31, 2011.
